Safety

Flowpark complies with the safety standards SFS 15567-1 and SFS 15567-2 of the Finnish Standards Associations SFS in the construction and use of adventure trails. These define and safety norms for physical structures of adventure trails and their operational requirements. The condition of the trails is checked regularly and the are maintained according to a pre-defined maintenance program. We use climbing equipment of well-known brands and the equipment is checked after every instance of use. In addition, the equipment and all the trails are examined thoroughly in an annual inspection.

Safety instructions of the adventure trails

These safety instructions include mandatory orders, that must be followed by each user of the adventure trails (hereinafter ”customer”).

  1. The customer has to be at least 120 cm tall (excluding Mini-trail for small children for which there is no high limit). Additionally, the customer needs to follow the height limits set for each adventure trail (see adventure trail signs).
  2. Customer under 13 years of age may only enter the trails accompanied by an adult, at least 18 years old. One adult can guide max. four customers under 13 years of age follow all safety instructions.
  3. The guardian of a customer under 18 years of age shall read and accept the safety instructions and give his/her consent for an underage child to enter the adventure trail.
  4. The customer is not allowed to remove the safety equipment, the gear must be worn at all times when moving on the trails. The customer is not allowed to exit the Flowpark area wearing the gears. The equipment shall be returned to the rental point when the customer stops climbing. The customer is not allowed to give his/her equipment to another person. If the customer has to remove the equipment is put back properly.
  5. A single ticket entitles the customer to use the adventure trails for an unlimited time on one day during the opening hours of the park. The validity of the ticket ends when the customer exits the park.
  6. It is prohibited to enter the adventure trails before the customer has been instructed by the park personnel. Before entering the adventure trails, the customer must demonstrate correct performance with the safety equipment on a test trail. The adventure trails may only be entered after receiving a permission from the personnel. 
  7. The customer shall take into account his/her skills and mental condition while using the adventure trails. Before going to a trail the customer must be sure that he(she is capable of passing it considering his/her physical condition. The customer is responsible for evaluating his/her condition. Flowpark does not recommend the adventure trails to pregnant women.
  8. The trails must not be entered under the influence of alcohol, medicine, or drugs. Entering the adventure trails is prohibited if the customer is sick.
  9. Flowpark has the right to prohibit the customer from entering the adventure trails if, according to the personnel's assessment, he/she is not capable of passing them safely due to his/her conditions or physical capacity. Flowpark personnel has the right to remove a person from the trails, if he/she is considered to cause a risk to trail structures, himself/herself or other customers. 
  10. The safety slings have to be constantly connected with carabiners to a safety wire or loop, which is marked with blue tape. When switching from one wire to another, one carabiner has to be unlocked and connected to a new wire first before unlocking the other carabiner. 
  11. The maximum number of people on a platform is 3. In a task element between the platforms there may be 1-2 persons at a time. There must be a minimum distance of 3 meters between them, and the other person's performance may not be disturbed or hindered in any way. An adult guiding a child may, however, go through the task together with the child without safety distance.
  12. The customer must follow all instructions given be the personnel and shown in signs on the trails.
  13. Using the adventure trails in Flowpark is physical exercise which may cause scratches and bruises. Accidents may also happen, as in other sports. Flowpark does not have an insurance in case of accidents. Each customer shall assess his/her insurance cover before entering the trail. 
  14. Using the adventure trails may cause damage to the customer's clothing or other property. Flowpark is not liable if the customer's clothes or property are damaged or get dirty. 
  15. The customer is obliged to use the rented equipment with care. The customer must not cause any damage to the adventure trail structures. If the equipment or trail structures are damaged due to the customer's negligence or intentional action, he/she shall be responsible to compensate the price of the equipment or repair costs of the structure to Flowpark.
  16. Flowpark personnel has the right to order customer to leave the adventure trails due to poor weather conditions. In that case the customers must exit the trail immediately. 
  17. The paid entry fee will only be returned to the customer, if the customer has to leave the park due to a reason attributable to Flowpark. In cases mentioned in the items 9 and 16 the entry fee will not be returned. 
  18. Smoking in the park area is prohibited. Flowpark is a non-smoking area.
